Roman is absolutely wonderful to work with. My husband and I had him make cupcakes for our wedding, then again for my mother's birthday.
For our wedding he was extremely helpful, coming to our house for a tasting and helping us pick flavors. He even helped us coordinate the cupcake wrappers to our theme and colors. All the flavors that we got were amazing, including the vegan and gluten-free options for our guests with dietary restrictions.
Roman also worked with the staff at our venue to make the cupcakes into a stunning display. Plus he made an incredible giant cupcake for us to cut at the reception.
The cupcakes he made for my mother's birthday were equally delicious, arranged in a cute "bouquet."
Roman is always so nice and friendly, on-time with deliveries, and just fantastic to work with. I would recommend him to anyone!

My partner and I live in LA and I was taking her on a surprise trip to Palm Springs for her big 40! I wanted the whole trip to be outstanding and something she will never forget! I was looking for a bakery in Palm Springs to get a cake or something to be delivered as a surprise for her and I stumbled upon this website. Since it was just the 2 of use I didn't want to get too much, so I decided on the cupcake bouquet, which I thought was such a cute idea and had never seen anything like that. We were supposed to be gone on her birthday and they would be delivered to our hotel to be put in our room as a surprise when we got back. Unfortunately we ran into some car problems and were stuck in the parking lot of the hotel waiting for AAA when they arrived, but thankfully she was so into checking out what was wrong with the car, she never even noticed the cupcakes being delivered! I put them in our room and later when we got back she saw the bouquet surprise and she loved it!!! She took so many pictures and almost did not want to eat them as the bouquet was so cute and she had never seen anything like it! I also love that the bouquet comes with a nice handwritten birthday card (very nice touch)! I ordered the rainbow and chocolate peanut butter salty caramel cupcakes and they were delicious!! I think one of the best cupcakes we've ever had!!!

I live in Los Angeles, where ever since Sprinkles cupcakes, there's a
new "specialty" cupcake shop opening on every other corner with new
treats and flavors. However, I have never tasted or seen anything like
Roman's creations. He catered our wedding, and we requested a variety
of cupcakes, cake pops and mini-pie tarts. Every last flavor was
amazing: Wild Strawberry Champagne, Jack Daniels, Bacon & Maple
Pancakes, Meyer Lemon Pomegranate, Spiced Chocolate Chai Tea, Chocolate
Peanut Butter Salted Caramel, Chocolate Cherry Coke, Happy Hawaiian,
Brie Apple Pie...it's making me sad just writing out all the delicious
flavors because I don't know when I'll be able to taste them again!
It's been a week since our wedding, and everyone we talk to asks us
where we got the cupcakes and desserts from. I think Roman is opening a
store-front location in Palm Springs soon, which means that my husband
and I will be making the 2 hour trip to Palm Springs JUST TO GO THERE!
With
so many things to think about when planning a wedding, Roman made the
dessert selection a breeze. He was flexible and so easy to work with
and made sure we were taken care of. He really went the extra mile. He
is by far the BEST cupcake artisan my husband and I have EVER come
across. Mouth-watering cupcakes and desserts at a really reasonable
price. We love you, Roman, and we can't wait for your OTR store to open
in Palm Springs!

I have tried many other cupcakes around the valley, nothing compares to the ones I recently had made for my boyfriend's birthday. Not only were they delivered to my home, but they were beautiful in appearance, and arrived in a classy looking white box. Roman goes above and beyond! I took one bite of the cream cheese brownie cupcake, and I was in heaven, but to my surprise it kept getting even more delicious as I got towards the center. So much flavor and the perfect texture. These are decadent and not like any other. Roman does not disappoint with his creative flavors. I absolutely can not wait to order from him again! This is a man who bakes with love, I highly recommend giving him a try, he will have you coming back for more! OTR is a great asset to the valley!
Can't wait til they have a shop I can visit :)

I can't say enough amazing things about Roman at OTR. Way before I knew
our wedding would be in Palm Springs I started researching cupcake
bakers, and his website blew me away. Being an LA local, I've had my
fair share of the sprinkles and dots of the cupcake industry. The
variety and creativity in OTR flavors is incomparable. Maple Pancakes
and Bacon! Chocolate Chipotle! Happy Hawaiian Cupcake! Yes Please!
When we met with Roman his presentation, flexibility, and kindness was
the icing on the cake. He didn't limit me in flavor choices or sizes,
he was happy to even invent new flavors to suit our wedding theme! He
sent us home with about 8 regular size cupcakes to enjoy that day (much
more generous than the one-bite samples of another local baker).
Choosing OTR was one of the easiest wedding decisions we made!
Needless to say the final product was everything we hoped for. Roman
provided tiers we rented and our caterer produced the final display.
Everyone couldn't wait for us to cut the our large 6 inch Love of Lemon
couples cupcake so they could start sampling the flavors. Our only
mistake was not ordering more Chocolate Peanut Butter Salty Caramel
cupcakes......Our guests were talking about those for weeks!

My husband and I were a little nervous about ordering a wedding cake
that we had never tasted--we're usually planners to the nth degree--so
it was a big leap of faith that led us Over the Rainbow to Roman. We
got a Love of Lemon wedding cake with cream cheese frosting and mini
Maple Pancake and Bacon cupcakes. Our foodie guests LOOOOOVED them and
days later, when all the cupcakes were gone, they kept asking for more
leftover cake. For our wedding weekend, we ate lots of yummy
things--foie gras, tuna tartare, short ribs, scallops--but my favorite
thing by far is still the lemon cake with cream cheese frosting! We
are now eating the last of it for my birthday and even though the
wedding cake is four days old, it still tastes better than any other
cake I've ever had :) Damn you, Roman. I am regaining all the weight
I lost for the wedding ;)

I googled "cupcake shops near Palm Springs" and pulled up Roman's reviews and website. I thought the flavors of his cupcakes were imaginative and exciting. . . just what I was looking for to send to my best friend who was celebrating her 50th birthday. I then contacted Roman via e-mail to place my order. He was very quick to respond with answers to my questions, so I knew it wasn't a form response. He was so accommodating with delivery and my request for a card and the "wow" factor. He really treated me special. I ordered a dozen regular sized cupcakes in the following flavors: Chocolate PB Salty Caramel, White Chocolate Cosmo, and Banana Milk Chocolate Crunch.
When my girlfriend called to say they had been delivered, she was amazed at how delectable they looked and how exciting the flavors would be. She said they were beautifully packaged and big. Just hearing the excitement in her voice confirmed my decision to go with Roman. I just wish I lived near his shop to visit and taste for myself!

It was my best friends 40th birthday party this weekend in Palm
Springs, and as a pastry chef & restaurant owner I was very
concerned about the cake possibilities! I found Roman on Yelp, and was
so impressed... Not only with the quality & beauty of the finished
product (a red velvet cake w/ coconut cream icing, specially designed
with the Rolling Stones tongue) but especially with his fabulous
customer service. He designed a specialty cake for us, accommodated
our request to get it 2 days earlier than we'd said originally, and
delivered it to our door... All for 1/2 the price I would have expected
to pay. Thank you!!

Roman, I have just returned to England after a week in Palm Springs ending in a
wedding for James & Erika Harvey! I still cannot forget the cupcakes.
Really, not only was it easily the only delicious thing I ate during my visit but
it is easily the best cupcake experience ever! I manage an artisan bakery and
patisserie in England and hope that we can one day produce something as good as
those. The coconut & macadamia cupcake definately my favourite. Just

I was throwing a Bachelorette/bridal shower weekend in Palm springs. I was
coming up short looking for a yummy bakery. I am a huge cupcake fan and have
tried many of the shops in Orange and LA counties. I turned to yelp and found
great reviews on OVER THE RAINBOW cupcakes.
I was totally intrigued on
the wild side menu. For 6 girls I ordered 24 cupcakes. In 2 days we were
fighting over the last few. I know that Maple cupcake and bacon doesn't sound
like the most delicious thing ever but oh boy was it.
I arranged
everything through email with Roman. I set a time for him to deliver to the
house (free delivery) and he was early and so very gracious to explain the 6
different flavors I had ordered. His service level was 5 star all the way. I
would recommend his cupcakes for any occasion. And if you want a conversation
starter serve cupcakes with bacon and potato chips on them.
I will
definitely be ordering again. I cant wait to try more flavors.

My two friends and I were celebrating our October Birthdays in
Palm Springs (Never mind how old we are!) and I wanted to do something different
than a Birthday Cake.
The minute I saw the unique cupcake flavors on the
Over the Rainbow website I knew this place would be great. I sent an email
asking about delivery, how much advance notice was needed to place an order and
received a reply from the owner and baker "Roman".
Delivery was included
in the price and I was pelasantly surprised to see Roman deliver the cupcakes in
person.
The birthday dinner was a big hit I think because of the cupcakes
which were delicious and beautiful. One of my friends even ordered 2 dozen to
take home with her for her God Daughter's 16th birthday!
You can't go
wrong with Roman and Over the Rainbow Cupcakes, he's the best!!!

"We were celebrating a friend's 30th Birthday in Palm Springs and wanted to order cupcakes for the birthday girl. Cupcakes are not difficult to find, but she doesn't eat sugar so we needed Sugar-Free cupcakes. Low and behold, we found Over the Rainbow Cupcakes. I spoke with Roman and placed my order and paid with Pay Pal in less than 10 minutes. The day of the big celebration, Roman delivered the cupcakes, FREE of charge and brought complimentary decorations as well.
I WISH Roman was in LA!! if I want cupcakes in Palm Springs again, I am going to order through Roman!
